With over 20 years of experience working with clients in a Psychology practice and in my work with hundreds of clients I would like to say that “I’ve heard it all” … or at least most.

A Generalist Psychologist in private practice sees clients for many different issues. Each person brings a completely new set of things to work on. Personally, I love the variety that my psychology and coaching work provides, as it constantly “keeps me on my toes” and I continue learning from every client as well as the presenting problem they have.

While the focus of my work as a Psychologist has mostly been on treating mental health disorders and serious issues such as trauma, anxiety and depression, I have also helped clients with other challenges that impact on the quality of their lives. These are more skill based and include effective communication, conflict resolution, dating, loneliness, grief and loss, attachment, relationship issues, parenting, obesity, serious health conditions, sexuality, self-esteem, neurodiversity, and many other human struggles. My Psychology clients often feel like they and their lives are in some form of a “deficit” and in the first stage, I help them bring it to the “baseline” of mental health.

In my Coaching work, my focus is on a specific aspect of my client’s life and I provide knowledge, skills, value identification, goal setting, tracking, accountability, troubleshooting, motivation, set individualised programmes and a lot more.

Obviously, flexibility is the key and at times there is an overlap between Psychology and Coaching with the same client. Having both skill sets and being able to transfer these to my clients is the most satisfying part of my work.

My mission and my way of living my life to the fullest is to share what I’ve learned in my experience.

These short lessons are a response to people’s niggling feeling that some things in their lives simply “do not feel quite right” or that “there must be more to this”. Many do not know where to start and how, and do not want to or have the means to engage a therapist or a coach. Others may feel like they have already done a lot of work and know things, and part of their growth is to DYO, with a bit of expert guidance.

My hope is that these lessons will demystify, validate, reassure, guide and provide you with the next step toward a more fulfilling life you want to have and deserve.

I also invite you to send me a message with suggestions about what you would like to learn more about.

With warmth and hope,

Katja
